Director - School of Natural Resources



The University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for the Director of the School of Natural Resources (SNR). This is a full-time administrative appointment that provides leadership for research, teaching, extension education, public service, and interdisciplinary and international activities. The School of Natural Resources is composed of 80 multi-disciplinary faculty, 85 staff, and over 140 graduate and 300 undergraduate students who investigate basic and applied aspects of climate, water, geography, soils, earth science, ecology, and fisheries and wildlife management; and provide outreach and extension services to SNR's clientele and the citizens of the State of Nebraska. In addition, SNR houses the Cooperative Ecosystems Studies Unit for the Great Plains, the Nebraska Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, the Water Center, the National Drought Mitigation Center, the High Plains Regional Climate Center, the Center for Advanced Land Management Information Technologies, the Internet Center for Wildlife Damage Management, and the Tern Plover Conservation Partnership.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: a Ph.D. degree in Natural Resource Sciences, or related fields; a documented record of collaborative leadership experience in higher education, business, or non-profit organizations; commitment to interdisciplinary research scholarship, teaching, and service; and a record of scholarly achievements and qualifications for appointment as a tenured, full professor in the School of Natural Resources.
