PostDoc/PhD Student positions in the Framework of the Helmholtz International Lab "aeroHELTH
Environmental research lab in Weizmann Institute of Science Israel (www.weizmann.ac.il) is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher (PostDoc) or PhD student to study the health impacts of air pollution. The successful candidate will join the international aeroHEALTH project (https://www.aerohealth.eu/en/index.html) in the group of Prof. Yinon Rudich (https://www.weizmann.ac.il/EPS/Rudich/) to investigate the role of environmental toxicants and their health impacts. The international Helmholtz lab offers a dynamic and international collaboration between the Weizmann Institute, Helmholtz centers in Julich and Munich and the University of Rostock. The work involves active collaborations between the participating groups and taking active roles in joint campaigns, data analyses, paper writing and weekly joint seminars and other activities.
This multidisciplinary project involves studying cytotoxicity imposed by exposure to air pollution. The project will use cultured cells, and mouse models, and big data analysis such as from RNA sequencing. The job requires recent laboratory experience, and basic molecular biology and biochemistry skills. The job involves designing and conducting research projects, presenting at national/international conferences, and writing manuscripts.
