The company I am recruiting for is an independent, employee-owned company
working in all sectors from transport, energy, buildings, water and the
environment to health and education, industry and communications.
This organisation has delivered prestigious Buildings projects world wide and
there is huge breadth and depth to the projects that are delivered including
Education/Health schemes, and mixed used multi-storey commercial/ residential
developments.
The Sheffield office covers the Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and East Midlands
part of the Eastern Division for which it is also the administrative centre,
providing support to the Divisional Offices. The office provides comprehensive,
multi-disciplinary professional services employing around 150 technical staff.
Services provided include Highways, Railways and Transportation, Civil and Water
Engineering, Building Structures and Building Services, Project Management and
Strategic Consultancy for a wide ranging client base throughout the UK.
Due to rapidly expanding workload they are now looking for a senior member of
staff to help to develop the transport modelling capability in Yorkshire and
across the north and east of England.
Job description
In the role you will make a major contribution by:
- Supporting a wide range of public and private sector clients
- Helping to build our transport modelling capability:
- Building on our existing team and workload.
- Wide range of development work including UK and overseas projects
- Major studies and infrastructure projects.
- Supporting LA frameworks and private sector clients
- Mentoring graduates within the Transport Planning team
- Involvement in building our transport modelling work in Yorkshire and the
north and east of England
- Liaising with colleagues in other offices nationwide to share information
and knowledge in order to further develop our professional excellence and
learning culture
Essential requirements:
- Degree qualification or equivalent
- Experience of a range of Transport Planning solutions for both public and
private sectors
- Sound technical experience, including knowledge of relevant software e.g.
TRANSYT, ARCADY, SATURN, CONTRAM, VISSIM, TUBA
- Experience working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy
- Capability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required
- The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels
of staff and clients (both written and orally)
Desirable requirements:
- An MSc in Transport Planning
- Ideally have experience of collaborative working with clients and other
consultants
