The Transport Planning Team offers a wide range of services to clients
through a strong business unit of transport planning professionals. This large
team provides the broadest range of expertise covering commissions from
development planning to public transport, from feasibility studies to traffic
management and from land use and transport policy to multi-modal modelling.
The job:
This post is based in Manchester where the company has over 50 transport
planners offering a wide range of services to public and private sector clients.
This team deals with strategic and micro-simulation modelling, scheme appraisal,
development planning, transport plans and strategies, land use and transport
policy, traffic management, engineering and road safety, parking strategy,
public transport and a variety of related topics.
The requirement is for a Senior Transport Planner to assist with and manage a
range of transport studies dealing with highway scheme appraisal, transport
policy, development and masterplanning, public transport, traffic management and
parking and other transport projects. The candidate should have experience of a
range of similar projects where he or she has been involved in the formulation
of the study process and the successful delivery of projects.
Knowledge/Experience:
To apply for this role you will need proven experience in a transport
planning occupation, in either the public or the private sector. This should
include a range of transport planning projects and ideally, the development of
personal capability in two or more of the following:
- Land use and transport policy, strategy and forward planning.
- Highway or public transport scheme appraisal.
- Traffic management and engineering.
- Transport economics.
- Development planning and assessment.
