The company:

This company is an international consultancy group providing leading, sustainable, and integrated solutions to meet the planning, engineering, management and environmental needs of four principal market sectors: transport, environment, natural resources and property.

They division are appointing staff providing a range of experience and qualifications. The successful candidates will provide Transport Technology and Systems expertise, with an emphasis on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to further strengthen the existing core team.

This may include:

• Providing wide-ranging technology, transport, telecomms and ICT oriented consultancy expertise for multi-disciplinary projects, including R&D
• Developing and winning new business.
• Managing and delivering the technical, financial and management requirements of projects.

The role:

This is a leading role within one of the core professional disciplines and involves being a leading technical contributor with responsibility for providing direction, advice, mentoring and guidance for others. The role involves managing an important team of technical professionals and includes all people management responsibilities: recruitment and selection, coaching, performance management, organisational decision making. The candidate will be responsible for recommending and assisting in the development of new offerings and making improvements to existing work practices. The position also has important project responsibilities including estimating the business impact of projects, negotiating and managing risk, and interfacing at senior levels with our clients.

• Road Pricing and associated technologies,
• Urban Traffic Management and Control,
• Telecommunications,
• ICT (inc h/w, s/w development),
• PT systems, Integrated Transport Solutions,
• Freight and Logistics, novel urban transportation systems/APT/trams, hybrid vehicles and alternative propulsion systems, the sustainable environment,
• air transport, port and shipping operations (systems)

Good international links and multi-lingual ability would be an advantage.
