 Vacancy for Agronomist
We are a Kenyan company dealing in the production and export of cut flowers and a leading exporter of Summer flowers. We are looking for a qualified person to fill the position of Agronomist within our group.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the following broad areas:
- Designing of suitable fertilizer/ fertigation programs for various crops in order to attain balanced plant nutrition.
- Formulation of suitable and effective spray programs.
- In charge of field trials and experiments.
- Formulate suitable agronomic practices.
- Plan correct irrigation systems
The candidate should possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- University degree or post graduate degree in either of the following: Agriculture, Soil Science, Agronomy, Plant Nutrition
- Be able to scrutinize, evaluate and interpret results from leaf, soil and water analyses in order to formulate recommendations relevant to farm conditions.
- Must be familiar with market trends as it concerns inputs such as fertilizers, chemicals.
- Possess excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to design and implement field trials and experiments. Proven record of research back ground is necessary.
- At least 4 years of working experience.
- Have initiative, self-drive, be able to work under minimum supervision and be result-oriented.
