W2 Professorship for Agronomy and Yield Physiology
The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Nutritional Sciences and Environmental Management invites applications for a W2 Professorship for Agronomy and Yield Physiology provisionally limited to a period of six years as of October 1st, 2019. Reference is made to § 64 section 1 and 4 Hessisches Hochschulgesetz (HHG) and to conditions of employment based on § 62 HHG. In case of eligibility, which will be evaluated according to § 64, section 2 HHG, a permanent W3 Professorship will be offered subsequently. Proficient knowledge of German is expected.
The position holder will be responsible for teaching in Agronomy and closely related disciplines within the faculty's German language BSc and MSc study programs. Contribution to the continuing development of teaching programs, including the international MSc in Agrobiotechnology, is desired. The successful applicant is furthermore expected to develop and lead future-oriented research in the field of applied agronomy, with a particular focus on yield physiology and sustainable productivity of major field crops. Close cooperation with related research disciplines, for example plant breeding or plant nutrition, is desired, as is the implementation and development of innovative methods to investigate yield physiology.
Applicants have to display an excellent publication record in relevant, highly-ranked, international peer-reviewed journals. Experience is expected in acquisition and leadership of externally funded research projects and in research cooperation with academic and non-academic partners on a national and international level.
