Organic Research Centre - Elm FarmResearcher - AgroecologySalary range £22-26k (plus pension entitlement).The Organic Research Centre - Elm Farm is looking to appoint a Researcher. The Researcher will report to the Deputy Research Director and work within two distinct areas: Agroforestry and Crops. The post will work with others within the institute to develop an existing agroforestry research theme (policy, research and dissemination) as well as supervise and manage sets of field trials (plot and on-farm) within the crops programme. The candidate would be educated to at least degree level in Plant, Agricultural or Ecological sciences (or have equivalent experience to this level). Knowledge and experience of agroecological systems research would be an advantage as would an understanding of the statistical basis of trial design and analysis. An interest in the environment and organic farming is desirable. Good communication skills, both oral and written are essential. The ability to work alone and to contribute to the work of teams is also important. The successful candidate would be expected to work out of ORC - Elm Farm, Berkshire but would also be required to travel to our site in Suffolk and throughout the UK on a regular basis.
