Three-year limited term Assistant Professor in Sustainable
Agriculture and Food Systems


Trent University invites applications for a 3-year limited term appointment in the field of Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems (SAFS) in the Trent School of The Environment (TSE) at the rank of Assistant Professor to start August 15, 2018, subject to budgetary approval. A completed Ph.D. and appropriate teaching experience are required. The successful candidate will teach a total of six courses in the 2018-2019 academic year (Fall, Winter, Summer). These courses will include, but are not restricted to, Environmental Implications of Agriculture, The Edible Campus, Canadian Food and Agriculture Policy and the Canadian Food System. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to supervise reading course (independent study) students and students within the undergraduate Honour's thesis course, as well as develop new SAFS courses that can be offered in the summer term. It is also envisaged that the successful candidate will utilize the experimental farm for teaching and project-based courses and will ideally connect their teaching and research to the broader interdisciplinary activities of the TSE.
