Lecturer in Human Geography




Lecturer Grade A: £26,876 - £30,825 p.a.



As part of the development of Geography we invite applications for these two new posts within the School. Situated between the Snowdonia National Park and the Menai Straits, and in an area that is rich in industrial and cultural heritage, Bangor's location offers unique opportunities for teaching and research. The School has good links with local authorities, government agencies and other relevant organisations in the UK and overseas.

The successful candidate will either be working towards or have just completed their PhD in a relevant discipline and seeking to develop their career in University teaching and research. Applications are particularly welcomed from individuals who can contribute in one or more of the following areas: globalisation; demography and population dynamics; cultural and developmental geography; anthropology; socio-economic survey methodology and data capture; cartography and mapping.

This position is for one-year initially but may be extended, subject to funding.

Interviews will be held on Monday 7th July 2008.

The successful candidate will be expected to be in post on or before 1st October 2008.
