The department wants to strengthen its focus on physical geography within the field of geomorphology, and with specific emphasis on sediment- and morphodynamics in estuarine systems and dating of estuarine sediments. The successful candidate will have good knowledge of transport and deposition of sediments in the estuarine environment and will have competence in describing processes controlling morphodynamics and the morphological response to changes in sediment availability and sea level in estuarine systems on short as well as on longer time scales. The successful candidate should conduct research with both a local and global perspective,e including both temperate and arctic climate zones, and must document experience with dating of estuarine sediments.
