A position as Associate Professor in Geography is open at the Department of Geography and Geology, University of Copenhagen with 1^st July 2008 as the preferred starting date.

The department wants to strengthen its focus on physical geography within the field of geomorphology, and with specific emphasis on sediment- and morphodynamics in estuarine systems and dating of estuarine sediments.

The successful candidate will have good knowledge of transport and deposition of sediments in the estuarine environment and will have competence in describing processes controlling morphodynamics and the morphological response to changes in sediment availability and sea level in estuarine systems on short as well as on longer time scales. The successful candidate should conduct research with both a local and global perspective,e including both temperate and arctic climate zones, and must document experience with dating of estuarine sediments.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State (http://www.perst.dk/db/filarkiv/12811/004-06.pdf). While negoation for salary supplement is possible, the starting salary is currently up to 392,518 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 67,121).
