Lecturer in Physical Geography
The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £32,958 to £39,324 or grade 7 £40,523 to £48,327, plus £2,623 London Weighting Allowance per annum, depending on experience.
The Department of Geography, King's College London, seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Physical Geography. The appointed candidate will promote research excellence through high quality publications and research grant applications and will be an integral member of the academic staff, enhancing student experience by teaching physical geography across undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. You should be able to demonstrate active research activity in areas of relevance to the Environmental Dynamics Research Domain. We welcome applications from any substantive area of physical geography, but especially the fields of (palaeo)-climatology, hydrology, geomorphology and ecology. The ED group is highly quantitative with a focus on monitoring and modelling. Ideally, the applicant should also be able to collaborate with our social science and geocomputation research domains, for example as physical geographers in interdisciplinary research projects.
You will have a passion for teaching and engaging with students at all levels. As part of the teaching and tutorial delivery team you will also be responsible for associated project supervision, examining and pastoral duties to our BSc Geography and MSc programmes.
