Lecturer in Planning & Sustainable Development



The UCC Programme in Planning and Sustainable Development, which was set up in 2006, is a full member of the Association of European Planning Schools (AESOP). It is based around a flagship masters course (the M.Plan) which has full professional accreditation from both the Irish Planning Institute and the Royal Town Planning Institute.

This exciting new discipline, which attracts high calibre students from a wide variety of backgrounds, has a real-world contemporary focus with firm foundations in academic thought, applied research and professional planning practice. Full details about the Programme are available on http://mplan.ucc.ie UCC now wishes to appoint a lecturer to join its core team and help to consolidate both the teaching and research elements of the programme.

Applications are invited from candidates with experience in planning research, teaching and / or professional planning practice that hold, or are eligible to obtain, corporate membership of the Irish Planning Institute, chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or an international equivalent.

The programme would be particularly interested in candidates with specialist experience in fields such as: urban design, action planning / master planning, environmental design, landscape, metropolitan planning, coastal planning, regional and spatial planning, economics of planning and development, transportation planning, planning in the developing world, comparative planning systems (international), or contemporary planning theory. Candidates with a wide generalist experience in planning practice are also welcome to apply.

Salary scale: € 37,413 - € 60,775. Appointment on the relevant point on the scale will be made commensurate with qualifications and experience
