Auckland CouncilPrincipal Specialist HazardsThe current moment in time represents a unique opportunity to join Auckland Council's Environmental, Policy and Strategy Department and help them to provide specialist expertise and leadership in the development of hazards management strategy, policy and guidelines for the future. Working within this vibrant and passionate department you will assist to maintain and improve hazard management across the region. This key role will focus on minimizing the risks posed by natural hazards (including earthquakes, volcanism, tsunami, meteorological effects, fire and flooding) and hazardous substances on human health and the environment. In this role you will be recognised as Auckland Council's technical expert in the field of hazard management. You will provide specialist technical input into determining plans and complex resource consents, input into all council's strategy, policy and plans as well as hazard management policy advice to external clients, customers and ratepayers. This is a challenging and technically stimulating role in a region known for its diverse natural landscape.
