Postdoctoral Researcher - Applications of X-ray and Neutron Computed Tomography in the Earth SciencesWe are seeking a postdoctoral researcher with research interests and expertise in computed tomography (CT) using either X-ray or neutron radiation, and in the quantification of textures of geologic materials in 3D. Efforts will be directed primarily in two areas; the quantification of textures of plutonic and volcanic rocks, and the characterization of brine migration in salt formations. The research will involve CT studies at ambient and high P/T conditions, as well as, numerical modelling of reactive transport and multi-phase flow during deformation. The position is initially for 1.5 years, preferably beginning in the summer of 2013, and may be extended based on performance and availability of funding. The successful candidate will be based at Aarhus University, but expected to make several extended visits to the University of California, Davis to utiltize neutron and X-ray imaging facilities. Qualifications Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Geology or related sciences, and have demonstrated expertise in computed tomography and/or rock texture/fabric analysis. The successful applicant will have demonstrated leadership, communication and teamwork skills, and a strong desire to engage in interdisciplinary research.
