A new appointment is sought to help consolidate our position, further strengthen links with University strategic research themes, and engage with emerging research and teaching agendas. We seek a candidate with a strong track record of research linking Digital Economy to socio-economic issues. A priority area is sustainable societies (e.g. impacts of digital technologies on behavior change; ICT built-environment interactions) but applicants with wider interests in the interactions between technology and society are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is likely to have a background in Geography or a related discipline and will be expected to provide research leadership (at Senior Lecturer/Chair level), as well as contribute to core teaching at Masters and Undergraduate levels. The appointment may be at any level (Lecturer to Chair), and consideration will be given to the contribution the applicants would make to the Human Geography and institutional Digital Economy research strategy. Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7 salary scale for Lecturer (£37,012 - £44,166 per annum) and the Grade 8 salary scale for Senior Lecturer (£46,846 - £52,706 per annum) with placement according to qualifications and experience.
