The School of Geosciences

The School of Geosciences is one of three Schools within the College of Physical Sciences, University of Aberdeen. The School covers the disciplines of Archaeology, Geography & Environment, Geology & Petroleum Geology, and Spatial Planning & Rural Surveying.


Reader/Senior Lecturer in Geophysics

Reference: FGS002AX

Working with colleagues both within the Geology discipline and more widely in the College, you should have a proven track record of research, measured by publication in international peer-reviewed journals, in the field of solid earth geophysics. You must have experience with inversion (preferably joint inversion) and forward modelling of various geophysical data types and also experience of field acquisition, processing and interpretation of geophysical data. You will complement existing strengths in Geology & Petroleum Geology such as basin analysis, sedimentology, diagenesis, geophysics, palaeontology and geochemistry.
