Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Fellow

The Research School of Earth Sciences at the Australian National University invites applications for a 4 year appointment as Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A) or Research Fellow (Level B) to contribute to research on biomineralization and calcification in marine environments. The Postdoctoral/Research Fellow will undertake independent research on fundamental aspects of biomineralization by marine calcifiers (e.g. foraminifers, corals) leading to improved understanding of geochemical proxy incorporation into carbonate shells and skeletons and/or to developing methods and assessing changes in calcification and calcium carbonate fluxes in marine environments.
A PhD in geochemistry, marine chemistry, marine biogeochemistry, palaeoceanography or biomineralization is required as well as demonstrated experience in the analysis/interpretation of biominerals and/or biomineral chemistry.
