Faculty position - Structural Geology

The Department of Geology at the American University of Beirut invites applications for a faculty position in the area of structural geology to begin August 15, 2017.

The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of structural geology, as well as introductory geology courses, to develop a vigorous research program in the field of structural geology/regional tectonics, and to supervise graduate students in this domain. Preference will be given to candidates with some teaching experience. Applicants should have completed their PhD in structural geology by August 2017 and should have a strong research record as demonstrated by publications in scholarly journals.

The appointment is normally at the assistant professor level for an initial period of four years with opportunities for renewal and advancement. The usual teaching load is not more than 5 courses a year. The language of instruction is English. The Department offers both bachelor's and master's degrees.
