Aerogeophysicist


Contract: Three year fixed term appointment, open ended
Location: Cambridge and Antarctica


The British Antarctic Survey (BAS), part of the Natural Environment Research Council, aims to undertake a world class programme of scientific research and to sustain for the UK an active and influential regional presence and a leadership role in Antarctic affairs.

Your role will involve aerogeophysical surveying in Antarctica, including airborne radar, aerogravity and aeromagnetics. You will also engage in processing, modelling and publishing of data, with particular emphasis on geological and glaciological interpretation, back at our offices in Cambridge.

With a PhD in geophysics, you will have previous field experience in geophysical data collection, preferably airborne, and proven expertise in processing, analysing and modelling data. You will also have strong team working skills and the ability to work in a physically demanding and challenging environment.
