invites applications for a

Professorship in Mineralogy/Petrology (W 2; 5 years)

The successful applicant will be required to cover the field of Mineralogy/Petrology in teaching and research. Appointment requirements are governed by article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz).
The appointee will have an outstanding track record of university teaching and research with a strong international component. She or he will be an expert in the field of mineralogical analytics - particularly in methods of high spatial resolution or in experimental methods. Candidates should also have experience in the acquisition of external funding.
The professor is expected to participate in interdisciplinary research projects. His or her teaching and research should focus on natural systems.
After an initial duration of five years, the appointee may be granted the opportunity to assume a position with permanent tenure, provided that the Department’s budgetary and structural situation permit it. Article 94 (2) of the Berlin Higher Education Act applies.
