PhD Position in Isotope Geochemistry

The Institute of Geological Sciences at the University of Bern invites applications for a doctoral research scientist in isotope geochemistry. The project seeks to enhance our under-standing of the evolution of the continental crust by measuring newly developed stable isotope systems in various geological records, such as lake sediments, mantle rocks and igneous rock series.

Candidates with a M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Earth Sciences are invited to apply. We are looking for a motivated candidate who is keen on working in a multidisciplinary envi-ronment, likes to develop analytical techniques and brings in their own ideas. Previous work experience in geochemical techniques and in a clean laboratory environment is benefi-cial. Good spoken and written English are prerequisites. Funding for this position by the Swiss National Science Foundation is secured for four years.
