Postdoctoral Fellowship
in the field of early solar system dynamics and timescales
The Planetology Group of the University of Bern invites applications for a Postdoctoral fellowship in the field of early solar system dynamics and timescales.
Candidates should have recently completed their Ph.D. in the field of Physics, Earth Sciences, or in a field relevant for such studies.
The noble gas group works on a better understanding of early solar system processes and timescales by measuring the noble gas distribution in various meteoritic components. For this studies, among others, sophisticated laser-ablation techniques and an on-line etch-system is available. The principal selection criteria for this PostDoc position are scientific excellence and a clearly expressed plan to investigate problems at the forefront of planetary science. The successful applicant should be highly motivated and is expected to develop his/her own scientific studies. In addition, strong technical and communication skills are essential.
The position is available from June 1st 2008 and the search will be open until the position is filled. Salary is according to the Swiss National Science Foundation.
