  • Marine Geochemistry
  • Marine Geology
  • Micropalaeontology

The research activities concentrate on proxies that provide information about palaeotemperature and palaeoproductivity, marine signals of terrestrial climate as well as intermediate and bottom water properties that are important in relationship with diagenetic overprint such as bottom water oxygen content and carbonate corrosiveness.

The PhD program follows a structured curriculum including shared supervision by thesis committees, regular presentation of results, a course program ranging from introductory to special courses and an obligatory 6-months visit at an international partner institute.
