Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Petrology
Salary: £34,223 - £38,522
We are pleased to announce an opening for a post-doctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary project on the Lesser Antilles volcanic arc combining thermodynamic modelling, experimental phase petrology and fieldwork.
The successful applicant will extend a database of petrological information and develop thermobarometric methods for retrieving temperature and pressure from igneous cumulate rocks.
We welcome applicants with a background in one or more of the following: computer programming for modelling or data processing, thermodynamic modelling, experimental petrology. Priority may be given to candidates from within any area of Earth Sciences with experience of developing algorithms to address quantitative problems.
This is a fixed term position for up to three years from 1st February 2014 or earlier.
