POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the exploration information management team, you will participate in supporting and maintaining the spatial data, databases, software and information delivery systems of the department.

You will be responsible for providing functional expertise in enterprise geoscience data warehouse applications and information management activities within the exploration department. You will organize, visualize and distribute exploration datasets including drill hole, geophysics, geochemical, as well as supportive GIS data into centralized databases, while providing support and maintenance of the systems.

You will carry out quality control analysis, identify and communicate requirements for corrective actions, as well as assist in the creation, review and communication of quality assurance work procedures for digital exploration information.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements of the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or natural sciences with courses in GIS and geoscience
  • Five to eight years of relevant work experience in a geoscience and/or information technology environment, while implementing and carrying out geoscience data management and quality control processes
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
  • Experience with complex databases and structured query languages
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Assets:

  • Microsoft SQL Server Certification or ESRI Developer/Enterprise Technical Certification
