The Institute of Geosciences (IfG) of Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU), Germany, is offering Two PhD positions within the Collaborative Research Center "Climate - Biogeochemistry Interactions in the Tropical Ocean" (SFB 754)in close cooperation with the Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research, Kiel (GEOMAR). Within SFB 754, more than 30 research groups from various scientific backgrounds collaborate in order to better understand the mechanisms driving climate-related biogeochemical processes in the water column and ocean margin sediments that control the extent and intensity of oxygen minimum conditions. Kiel is an internationally recognized hot spot for marine sciences. The successfull applicants will work in a young, international research team aiming for excellent scientific outputs. They are expected to be proficient in English and well capable of both independent and team-oriented work. The salary corresponds to E13 (75 % position) at the German salary scale TV-L.
