seeks for a
Research Assistant in Invertebrate Palaeontology and
Carbonate Sedimentology (A 13)
Applicants are invited for a six-years (3 + 3) position in the field of invertebrate palaeontology and carbonate sedimentology. Candidates should hold a PhD and have a strong track record in the fields of invertebrate paleontology, palaeoecology, stratigraphy and facies of carbonate environments. Experience in stable isotope mass spectrometry and/or in the Palaeozoic are particularly welcome. The successful candidate is expected to build and maintain a strong externally funded research program in the above fields.
The candidate is expected to provide evidence that she/he can teach with distinction at the undergraduate and graduate level and that she/he is an effective mentor of students. Teaching in English is possible (MSc level), although teaching in German is expected (BSc level) after a reasonable period of time. She/he is expected to be able to perform fieldwork and support/teach students in the field. Teaching duties will be 4 hours per week during term time.
