The Institute for Geology and Mineralogy of the University of Cologne seeks for a

Scientist in low-temperature stable isotope geochemistry
(salary scheme TV-L E 13)



Applicants are invited for a six-years position in the field of low-temperature stable isotope geochemistry. Candidates should hold a PhD degree, have a strong track record in environmental stable isotope geochemistry and experience in gas isotope mass spectrometry. The successful candidate will be expected to operate a gas-IRMS lab, teach classes in advanced stable isotope geochemistry as well as basic and advanced geochemical lab-courses, and participate in ongoing projects of the research group including fitness for field and maritime campaigns. The candidate will also be expected to develop a strong research program in low-temperature stable gas isotope geochemistry. Candidates with experience in stable isotope hydrology or three-isotope systems are particularly welcome.

The institute is currently focusing its research activities in the fields of quaternary geosciences and isotope geochemistry. Laboratories include gas-IRMS, organic and inorganic geochemistry, MC-ICP-MS in addition to the Cologne-AMS facility.
