The ideal applicant will have a PhD in a climate-related science and an extensive record of accomplishments with at least ten years of post PhD research experience. We seek applicants with a strong background and recognized leadership and established record in modeling and observational studies of the role of tropospheric and stratospheric aerosols in climate variability and change, their impacts on changes in insolation, and their interaction with other anthropogenic influences. Consideration will be given to applicants whose research interests complement LDEO's existing strengths in modern- and paleo-climate modeling and climate observations and that can also enhance LDEO's collaborative work with the NOAA GFDL and NASA GISS laboratories.
