The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University invites applications for a full-time post-doctoral research scientist position (s) in Polar Geophysics. The successful candidate will join a group working on glaciology and geodynamics. Recent efforts have focused on subglacial lakes, ice dynamics and mountain uplift processes. The project will involve the acquisition of a major new aerogeophysical data set in the center of East Antarctica including surface altimetry, ice penetrating radar, gravity and magnetics as part of the International Polar Year. Candidates with research interests in both ice sheet processes and geodynamics are encouraged to apply. The position (s) is a full-time 2-year appointment, with the opportunity of continuation and growth depending on progress and availability of funding.
Requirements: A recent Ph.D. in geophysics, glaciology or a related discipline is required.
