Teaching Assistant Professor
Colorado School of Mines Department of Geology and Geological Engineering invites applications for an anticipated Teaching Assistant Professor position in the field of Economic Geology.
The successful candidate will oversee and manage the Professional Master in Mineral Exploration Degree Program at Colorado School of Mines and assist the Society of Economic Geologists in the development of a program of continuing education for professionals in the exploration and mining industry. The appointee will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in economic geology and will participate in the development and delivery of field courses focusing on the geology of ore deposits.
Candidates must possess a M.S. degree in economic geology or a related disciplineor a B.S in geology or a closely related field with professional or academic experience.Applicants must demonstrate the potential for successful teaching and possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Preference will be given to candidates holding a Ph.D. degree in economic geology or closely related field, and with demonstrated experience in the exploration and mining industry. Applicants must demonstrate the potential for successful teaching and possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Outstanding management skills are desirable. Candidates with a track record in innovative research in economic geology are encouraged to apply.
