Professor - Department of Applied GeologyThe Professorial Chair in Computational Geoscience is a National Resource Sciences Precinct initiative and a pivotal role in providing academic leadership and research expertise for Curtin University and CSIRO. As Chair, your role will develop high-value networks with CSIRO and industry stakeholders, advance the use of supercomputing as applied to geoscience through the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre. Your international reputation and world-leading research in the use of supercomputing to address major geoscience challenges, will be evident by your record of publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals relevant to the resources sector. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, foster and promote the development of a collegial, supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity. It is essential to have a Doctoral qualification in Geoscience or a related area with significant leadership of integrated research activity both within and across groups in academic and/or applied research.
