Director - The Institute for Geoscience Research, Department of Applied GeologyThe Institute for Geoscience Research (TIGeR), a flagship research institute within the School of Applied Geology, undertakes high-impact research in Earth and Planetary Science at Curtin University. As Director you will be the strategic leader of TIGeR, responsible for maintaining and capitalising on Curtin's world leading research performance and reputation in areas such as; geochemistry, planetary science, tectonics, geodynamics and related disciplines. You have an international reputation; a record of obtaining research income including nationally competitive research grants and/or fellowships; publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals; and by a high level of citations. You will have demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, foster and promote the development of a collegial, supportive working environment; and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity. It is essential to have a Doctoral qualification in Geoscience or a related area with significant leadership of integrated research activity both within and across groups.
