CeREES Petroleum Geoscience Scholarship ProgrammePhD ScholarshipThe Department of Earth Sciences seeks a highly motivated, high calibre student with aspirations to develop a career as a professional geoscientist within the upstream oil and gas industry. You will join the Petroleum Geoscience PhD Scholarship Programme that is unique in Europe as it provides structured industry interaction, training and nurturing. This scholarship, fully funded by StatoilHydro, is available to UK and EU citizens. We seek graduates with a BSc or MSc in Earth Sciences or related subject, with an interest in petroleum geoscience and sedimentary basin analysis and the challenge of intergrating seismic, igneous and sedimentary data. The student will work on the research project: A detailed study of the interaction of volcanics and siliciclastic sediments West of Shetlands: An integrated subsurface and field analogue study.
