One Postdoctoral Position in Geothermics



The Department of Geology at the University of Chile (www.geologia.uchile.cl) and PBCT project PDA-07 (CONICYT) invites applications for a two-year post-doctoral position in Geothermics. The successful candidate will conduct fundamental and applied research to better understand geothermal systems in the Andean chain and will be affiliated to the Andean Geothermal Center of Excellence (CEGA), hosted in our academic unit. Candidates with expertise in geological/geophysical/geochemical exploration of geothermal resources, and characterization of aquifers and reservoir modeling are particularly encouraged to apply.

Up to two years of support including salary and research funds are available. Depending on performance the position may be renewed for two additional years or upgraded to a permanent research scientist position. Twelve-month salary level will be within the range of US$35,000-40,000/year (net salary) commensurate with experience.
