The University of Freiburg in Germany invites applications for a tenure-track professorship in geological and crystalline materials (W1/W3), with start-up funding and supported by the Bund-Länder-Program as soon as possible.
We are looking for candidates with research and teaching skills in the fields of crystallography, crystal formation and characterization of crystalline materials.
The candidate is expected to have excellent international cooperation and project acquisition record and should be open for networking and collaboration within the university and faculty, for instance in the fields of natural resources, sustainability and risks or cooperation with the Materials Research Centre or Sustainability Centre in Freiburg, or other research facilities.
The qualification requirements are doctoral degree and excellent scientific record. The appointment is initially limited as junior (assistant) professor to four years. After successful interim evaluation, it can be extended for another two years, whereby the candidate is eligible for promotion to full professorship with tenure, subject to fulfillment of statutory and performance criteria.
