Fugro Robertson Limited (FRL) is delighted to announce that it has formed an innovative alliance with Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL) to offer a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Petroleum Geoscience. FRL and RHUL have been working together towards offering an oil and gas industry focused postgraduate qualification, which has now received university validation and is open for participants to register.

Pre-requisites:
  • Participants will have undertaken some prior training at postgraduate level in the subject area either through courses or work experience.
Our unique approach:
  • The award of PG Diploma will be achieved when the participant has attended and successfully completed all assessments for six short taught programmes over a period of up to 3 years.
  • The candidate can choose what topics will be covered from the following list (Note: you choose the combination and they can be taken in any order)

Geophysical Reservoir Characterisation Log Interpretation
Petroleum Geochemistry for Explorationists Basin Modelling
Carbonate Reservoir Geology Clastic Reservoir Geology

Teaching, learning activities and assessment:
  • Each course programme follows a similar format of lectures, classroom practical activities, discussion and feedback session carried out as full-time intensive activity over 5-10 consecutive days
  • Each course will have 3 elements of assessment:

  • Completion of practical exercises during the intensive teaching period (30 %)
    Completion of an online assessment (30 %)
    A theory examination (40 %)
