Radioactive Waste Management / Disposal ConsultantGalson Sciences Limited is a research and consultancy company specialising in the fields of radioactive waste management and nuclear decommissioning. Our work encompasses support for development of geological and near-surface disposal facilities worldwide, safety/performance assessment, optioneering studies, decommissioning and on-site waste management strategy and assessments, regulatory and licensing support, nuclear safety, nuclear new build, geosciences research, and criticality safety assessment. We are interested in hearing from both recent post-graduates and experienced candidates with confidence in their abilities, seeking to develop their career in nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management consultancy. You will be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, self motivation, an aptitude for applied problem solving, and an ability to deliver high quality work to tight timescales. You will ideally have an MSc or PhD in applied mathematics, quantitative earth sciences, physics, chemistry or engineering. Relevant nuclear experience and/or knowledge of modelling, particularly with respect to geological characterisation, groundwater flow processes, gas and contaminant transport through geological media, radiological risk assessment, and/or nuclear safety case development would be advantageous. You will quickly be given responsibility and will be expected to contribute to the development of a small and dynamic company. You will work on a wide range of industry, regulatory and policy projects in the UK and overseas and be given a unique opportunity to develop all-round experience in the nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management industry.
