Full-time professorship in marine geology and geophysicsThe Faculty of Sciences of the Universiteit Gent (Belgium) has a vacancy for a full-time professorship in marine geology and geophysics. Candidates should have at least 2 years of post-doctoral experience in conducting experimental marine geological and geophysical research at sea on one or both of the following topics: i) marine sedimentary processes, ii) geophysical characterization of sedimentary sequences. The successful candidate is expected to join the research unit "Renard Centre of Marine Geology" (http://www.rcmg.ugent.be) and to collaborate with the other research units in the Department. Responsibilities include teaching on the bachelor and master levels, as well as building up and leading a vigorous, internationally recognized research program, which is capable of attracting external funding. Evaluation will be based on the candidate's publication record, her/his ability to communicate well, international mobility, his/her supervisory skills, and the ability and desire to work both collaboratively and independently.
