Chemical Engineer


in the research unit Marine Geosystems of the research division 2, Marine Biogeochemistry

Job Description / Duties

  • Performing routine measurements on a plasma-mass-spectrometer (MC-ICP-MS) including the use of a laser ablation system
  • Quality assurance (data reduction, sample documentation, data archiving)
  • Responsible for lab safety, machine maintenance and repair
  • Implementation of new analytical routines for the MC-ICP-MS
  • Contribution to method development and system optimization

Qualification

  • Degree in chemical engineering or equivalent skills
  • Advanced knowledge of quantitative instrumental analysis
  • Experience in thermal ionisation (TIMS) and multi-collector-plasma-mass-spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS)
  • Good spoken and written English

This is a full-time position for a single candidate.

Salary will be based according to the German public sector salary scheme E 10 (TVöD).

This is an offer for a permanent position. The salary depends on qualification and could be up to the class E 10 (TVöD)-Bund of the German tariff for public employees.
