Geologist/Geomorphologist (Drainage specialist)

GETECH is looking to hire a motivated geologist to further strengthen GETECH's expertise in drainage analysis and palaeogeographic modeling. The successful candidate will work within the Geology Division, which is a substantial, multi-disciplinary group of geoscientists.

The main duties will be to:

• analyse present day drainage networks and geomorphology and reconstruct the palaeodrainage evolution of study regions
• provide a mix of stand-alone palaeodrainage studies and support to broader based studies
• provide technical input to studies and advice to other staff
• assist the development of new methods linking tectonics, landscape and stratigraphy and their impact on petroleum systems

Applicants should:

• hold a higher degree in Geology or a related subject
• demonstrate significant post-qualification experience and ability in drainage network analysis
• hold demonstrable experience and ability in use of the necessary software including Rivertools and ArcGIS
• demonstrate significant experience and knowledge of the geomorphology of GETECH's areas of interest including Africa and India and S America
• possess excellent oral and written communications skills
• be capable of managing projects
• be fluent in English

The post is based in our head office in Leeds, close to the Yorkshire Dales, and offers the opportunity for world-wide travel to the offices of our international clients.

The salary will be commensurate with industry standards, depending on qualifications and experience
