Research Professor in Geoscience Data AnalysisIt has long been an ambition at GEUS to provide a focus point for the development of a geological data analysis environment centred particularly around multivariate data analysis, geostatistics and representative sampling. It has become increasingly evident over the past two decades that there is an urgent need to promote "Geoscience Data Analysis" as a discrete professional discipline at GEUS - seen in the light of the exponential increase in the volumes of analytical data and also in the increasing focus on quantitative modelling within geophysics, geochemistry, hydrology, chemistry and microbiology. The aim of the professorship is to strengthen the scientific research platform such that research into GDA and particularly sampling strategy is integrated across the spectrum of scientific departments at GEUS Full advertisement and contact The present text is an abbreviation of the full advertisement, which is found at www.geus.dk or http://www.geus.dk/geuspage-uk.htm Further information about the position can be made to the Head of Department Per Rosenberg, phone (+45) 38142323, e-mail pro@geus.dk Application The application, marked 'GEUS, j.no. 031-01199' must be available at GEUS no later than the 2nd of June 2009, at 12.00 (Danish time).
