Research Associate (Postdoctoral) in Isotope Geochemistry
The German Research Centre for Geosciences GFZ at Potsdam is the national Research Centre for Geosciences in Germany. GFZ houses around 900 staff researching on all aspects of modern terrestrial Earth Science research. The researcher will be based within the new GFZ section 3.4 "Earth Surface Geochemistry". In this section we are currently developing a world-class laboratory and scientific environment including innovative isotope geochemical infrastructure all dedicated to the study of the geochemical, physical, and biological processes taking place during Earth surface processes. The candidate shall hold a Doctorate degree or Ph-D in isotope geochemistry or related fields. Extensive experience is required in the conduction of projects and very good publications in either of the following fields:
- Geochemistry of "non-traditional" stable isotopes in the compartments of the Earth's surface (soil, saprolite, higher plants, soil-, ground- and river-water)
- Development of innovative laser ablation techniques
The appointment for three years, renewable by three years and is available from October 1st, 2009. The candidate can participate in the GFZ tenuring procedure.
