The Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre, University of Glasgow, seeks to make an appointment to develop, build and sustain research of international standard in Earth Science applications of stable isotope geoscience which will strengthen and enhance the work and international reputation of the Research Centre. This post is linked to a major £1M plus investment in the stable isotope laboratory under which SUERC intends to purchase a high resolution isotope ratio mass spectrometer e.g. the ThermoFisher 253 Ultra.

With the ability to lead the existing team of Researchers and Technicians at the Centre you will further develop the research activity in stable isotope geoscience whilst also contributing to teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. In particular, we seek an isotope geochemist who will build a research programme around the new mass spectrometer and our several existing conventional IRMS instruments.

For appointment at Senior Lecturer / Reader level you will demonstrate a track record of highly-cited publications in high impact peer-reviewed journals alongside an international reputation in stable isotope geoscience and research leadership skills appropriate to the level of appointment.
