To complete its team, the Geneva Natural History Museum is looking for a
Research Fellow in Mineralogy
Your mission and responsibilities:
You participate in the management, organization, digitization, loans and conservation, as well as in the development of the Earth Sciences Sector's collections, ensuring the transmission of knowledge to a wide public and take part in mediation activities. You coordinate and/or lead scientific research projects and the publication of works in mineralogy at the interface between minerals and life, in accordance with the scientific policy of the Museum.
Holder of a doctorate in mineralogy/geology or equivalent, you have at least two years of postdoctoral experience in earth sciences. Experienced in analysis of crystal structures, collection management and research, you will lead programs to study and promote regional and international geodiversity. With an excellent ability to publish and obtain external funding, you have a good understanding of the importance and role of collections and research in museums. Although autonomous in your tasks, you also appreciate teamwork and have the ability to collaborate with other similar institutions, both nationally and internationally. Your proven ability to analyze and synthesize as well as your sense of initiative and flexibility are recognized. You speak French, or have the basis and motivation to learn it quickly.
