Senior Gas Hydrates Geoscientist
Lower Hutt, New ZealandWe are seeking a senior scientist with broad geological/geophysical skills to lead our research on gas hydrates. GNS Science has led New Zealand's gas hydrates research over the last 20 years and with growing commercial interest in the resource, this position is an opportunity for a motivated researcher to build the research programme and to strengthen our leadership in the area of gas hydrates as an energy source. The successful candidate will have a PhD and a good track record in academic publishing. Good links into the international gas hydrates community, enthusiasm and sufficient seniority to lead gas hydrates research are essential. The successful candidate will undertake a broad range of research related to gas hydrates and have the opportunity to link with scientists in other fields. A willingness to participate in data acquisition and go to sea is vital. Communication and inter-personal skills are important for this role.
