Scientist - Fluid Geochemist
Lower Hutt, New ZealandWe are seeking a fluid geochemist to work in the Marine Geoscience Department, at GNS Science, Lower Hutt, Wellington. The successful candidate will be responsible for an Ion Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (IC-MS) and will contribute to research on understanding processes associated with the formation of seafloor hydrothermal systems and their associated massive sulfide mineralization in the New Zealand region, and elsewhere. This is a full-time permanent position. GNS Science is a Crown Research Institute (CRI) owned by the New Zealand Government and is New Zealand's largest geological science organisation. It provides geological, geophysical and isotopic research and consultancy services to government and industries within New Zealand and overseas.Significant growth in research related to New Zealand's offshore mineral deposits, specifically those related to hydrothermal vent sites associated with submarine volcanoes, means that GNS is looking to expand its Offshore Minerals group.
