Research Assistant (post-doc) (f/m/d E13 TV-L)

100% of the regular weekly working hours (currently 39.80 hours per week) initially for 3 years. There is the possibility of an extension of up to 3 years within the framework of the maximum permitted time limit for one's own academic qualification in accordance with the provisions of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG). with 40 hours / week. The position is initially to be filled for 3 years. The option of a 3-year extension is given in accordance with Section 31 of the NHG. The further requirements for employment can be found in Section 31(3) of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG) in the currently applicable version as well as Section 1(2) of the regulations governing the recruitment and evaluation of academic staff as temporary civil servants. Your profile

You have a university degree and a doctorate in a relevant field of science. Relevant experience in a high-temperature laboratory and/or high-pressure laboratory as well as in the modelling of petrogenetic processes on the basis of experiments is required. The position is initially to be filled for 3 years, the possibility of a 3-year extension is given in accordance with §31 NHG. You have a good command of English and German and are characterized by a cooperative, committed and responsible working style.

Your tasks

You supervise the high-temperature laboratory and/or the high-pressure laboratory and carry out experimental research. Here, the focus can be placed on the investigation of melt-crystal interaction, but also on other current geochemical and petrological issues. In addition, you are expected to be willing to raise research funds and to participate in the teaching of the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in geosciences (e.g. polarization microscopy, crystallography, 4 SWS).

High-pressure laboratories (hydrothermal system, piston cylinder apparatus, internally heated gas pressure systems), high-temperature ovens, gas mixing ovens, preparation laboratories and a variety of analytical devices such as Raman, FT-IR, EMP, SEM, Excimer LA-ICPMS, DSC and TMA are available for research activities.

The position serves to qualify the next generation of academics and offers the opportunity for an habilitation. The position is suitable for part-time.
