Two Year Fixed Term Opportunity with Options for Extension/Permanency
The Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) is a State Government Initiative that aims to encourage exploration in Western Australia for the long-term sustainability of the State's resources sector.
We are currently seeking a Senior 3D Geophysicist-Geologist to join the busy team in GSWA and make a significant contribution to the EIS project.
This $80 million initiative, managed by Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA), which is funded by Royalties for Regions over five years, will stimulate increased private sector exploration and ultimately lead to new mineral and energy discoveries.
As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for investigating, collating, analysing and editing geoscience information, and compiling high quality maps, reports and databases suitable for publication by using appropriate technology.
To undertake the role you will require a Bachelor of Science (Geoscience) or approved equivalent degree, a current drivers licence, and experience in the following:
- Processing and interpretation of geophysical data and a demonstrated ability to compile quality, comprehensive reports, maps and models to publication standard,
- 2D section construction constrained with geophysics, and in 3D modelling studies with knowledge of relevant software (Oasis Montaj/GM-sys, GoCad, GeoModeller).
- Working with GIS, and database structures and workflows related to 3D modelling.
